| This topic was inevitable, with so many people teetering on the verge of suicidal thinking the question of life after death comes up, so I thought it would be wise to get everyones opinion of death. try to think beyond suicidal thinking...just your opinion people please no posts of grim determination to die. i don't want that on my conscious. Personally, I believe there is a God. But the bible has been a problem for me in many ways...I am too philisophically inclined and thus question everything...in search of the truth about whether or not God exists. And what is God like? But All I ever find in the Bible is conflicting views on God and cryptic messages that mean different things to different people and thus can't be straight out messages from God because why would he set in motion disagreement in his own church over the meaning of certain passages? Yeah the whole Church thing does NOT work for me at all. But I do believe that there is a God because I just feel like there should be for their to be such an artistic beauty in some places of the world. But I don't know about life after death, the more I think about it the more I doubt it...but I suppose thats the idea of faith; it defies rational thinking eh? Tell me your own beliefs, no Criticism allowed here. | |

I don't consider re-incarnation to be that bizzare of an idea either to tell the truth. Only I don't believe it is possible to remember past live because that would be impossible...well maybe not...I don't know I never really thought about it.

Only I don't believe it is possible to remember past live because that would be impossible...well maybe not...I don't know I never really thought about it. Maybe we still remember things when we're a baby, just completely incapable of communicating those things. Who knows, huh? Personally, I believe there is something greater than us, but I don't believe that any religion invented by humans correctly describes it. How in the world would we ever be able to grasp the will of something that, for starters, has greatly outlived us (or is maybe no longer here). And I know what man is capable of, and I find it hard to just follow a 2000 year old book that might have just been a big scam to control the populace. I've stopped philosophizing about it, 'cause there's just no way a human will ever figure it out. I prefer to believe that a God exists in the interactions between all things living on this earth, but it's had for me to explain that concept. It's more of a feeling in the back of my head, rather than a true belief. I also find it more rewarding to philosophize or meditate about those things, than about something you will never know untill you are dead. I don't know, I guess religion has just always been bad in my book, for all the innocent lives it has cost, and still does. I prefer the more philosophical religions, such as Taoism, Confucianism, Buddhism, you name it (though I am honestly not very familiar with them). They center more around selfunderstanding and such, instead of worship. Just my thoughts. Not trying to diss any religion, it's a personal matter everyone should figure out for themselves. Don't just be Catholic (for example) just 'cause everyone around you is. In other parts of the world it's just the same with other religions, and they believe they are right too. Pfff. I find it a frustrating matter, and I should really stop ranting for today 'cause I'm tired and a bit afraid that sooner or later, I'm gonna step on some toes here. So, cheers, and take care.

I believe so many of the same things that you do!!! Unbelievable. And cool that I'm not the olny person who thinks that way. Just wow.

| That's cool to hear, just comes to show you'rte never alone, no matter what you're thinking/believing. There are just waaaaay too many people, you'd have to be a serious freaking genius to have truly unique thoughts about something. And if you do, you're probably crazy (unique thinkers always are, until they're recognized as smarter than the rest ). Doesn't mean they're always easy to find though. And just wanna add that I also do believe religion has done good things, and is undeniably a great support to many people. There's no telling where we would've been now without it either you know... | |

I find that hard to believe, 'cause that would imply I've had some very fucked up and impossible lives. Like Hell. And finding my family murdered, which was pretty fucked up. And many other things which are just too unreal and farfetched to be memories. But who knows. I've had some pretty weird ideas about dreams too. Who says this isn't some kind of dream?
